If you can't treat yourself when you're getting married, then when can you? That's what I'm telling myself as a 2025 bride, anyway. The world of wedding accessories is a burgeoning one – which is both a blessing and a curse for us fashion-forward nearly weds – with all things ivory, silk, white, lace, pearl and so on in high-demand.
But where to start? Some designer brands (think Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin) lend a helping hand with dedicated sections on their websites containing wedding shoes, bridal bags and jewellery – but that doesn't mean to say other labels don't have what you're looking for. Part of the fun is finding hidden gems that you haven't already seen other brides coveting.
I pride myself on being hyper organised so I've ticked a fair few boxes on my to-do list, but surprisingly, wedding accessories are the things I'm finding most difficult. Really, the dress and venue hunting were a walk in the park in comparison.
With that, I've decided to narrow things down.
Arguably, the most important wedding accessory of them all. Do you want flats/comfortable wedding shoes, blue wedding shoes (for your ‘something blue’), something with a high heel, or somewhere in-between? Are you looking for something pared-back and relatively plain, or do you want the shoes to be the moment with pearl and/or crystal embellishments?
Top tip: if you plan to dye your wedding shoes afterwards to prolong your usage of them, you'll want to opt for fabrics like satin or suede as it makes the process much easier.

You might not have even thought about whether you'll want a bag on your wedding day, and chances are you probably won't need one if you've got bridesmaids on hand for makeup touch-ups and the like. That's what they're there for, right?
That being said, a bag can really make an outfit and it might be just the thing your look is missing. You don't have to use it on the day itself, either, as something like a bridal clutch will lend itself to multiple outfits on the lead up. Think: your hen-do/bachelorette, the night before you say “I do”, or even on your honeymoon (yes, the white theme continues there).

Apart from your engagement ring and wedding band (which will, of course, be added later on the day), you'll likely want some other jewellery to complement. Classic, can't-go-wrong pieces like tennis bracelets and pearl necklaces are forever favourites among brides, but there are no rules – this is your day.
I love Simone Rocha's blue bow earrings and am seriously considering them for something fun and different, but equally, Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra studs are something I'll wear endlessly making them a better investment in the long run.
